Is Gray Gables Expensive?
At first glance some people think so. Gray Gables is the only facility that does true package pricing. We don't like the nickel and dime approach and don't charge extra for things like peanuts, bartenders or napkins.
When you go out to dinner you can either order ala carte or the complete dinner. The dinner meal is always a better value.

Why do I have to use your caterer?
Consistency is important. Impeccable food and service are important. Unfortunately guests judge you and us by the quality of the staff and the food at your wedding. Guests like to be treated well, greeted with a smile and know that they are welcomed. Gray Gables creates favorable memories.
Is there an advantage for using Gray Gables vendors?
Think of it this way. We only use the best. After 1100 weddings and receptions we know who the real professionals really are. Why trust unknowns?
Can we stay past midnight?
Many receptions go past midnight, often as late as 1:00 a.m.
What do you charge for your limo?
The limo service is included in our deluxe package at no extra cost.
Do you have free parking?
The parking is free. There are two lots, and there is plenty of street parking.
Are you ADA?
There is ADA parking, and the wedding and reception venues are ADA.
What if it rains?
If the rain prevents an outside wedding, the staff will set up for an inside wedding in Westervelt Hall at no additional charge.
Can we have a band?
There are two venues for a band, one inside and one outside.
Can we bring our own alcohol?
A full service bar and bartenders are available at no extra charge. Gray Gables supplies all the alcohol at reasonable prices.
How many guests can you seat?
290 either inside or outside.
When can I access the facility on the day of my event?
Your rental time of the Estate starts the moment you arrive on the property. A timeline of your event will be provided by your wedding coordinator.
Can I decorate the facility?
Yes, you are allowed to decorate above and beyond your packages if you wish. Nothing may be attached in any way that may deface the facility.
How can I secure a date for my wedding and reception?
The non-refundable reservation deposit of $1500 holds your date.
Do I have to schedule a tour to view the facility?
We specialize in one-on-one personal attention with every bride that we work with. In order to do that we need to find out what your picture of your dream wedding is. Our packages and services are like no other in the Portland area. For you to understand what and how much we do, we like to describe it and answer your questions with a visit of the Estate.
Do I have to rent the entire facility for my event?
Yes, because we offer full exclusivity of the Estate for you and your guests.
Can I set up an outdoor tent for my wedding?
Absolutely, we can also provide you with local vendors for tent rentals.
Why do I need a wedding planner?
Because you have never been married before, or because you were married before but did it yourself.
