Thank you for your interest in Gray Gables Academy of Etiquette!

I started the Academy after many years in the event business. It is really a logical adjunct to my other two businesses: Gray Gables Estate and Paradigm Conference Center.

At these events, the saddest things I see are the poor table and social manners of the guests at weddings and meetings.

Hopefully the Academy will allow the younger people to become comfortable with themselves and be successful in a world that makes first impression judgments within six seconds.

Philosophy

Etiquette training builds confidence and opens doors. In this competitive world, students, now more than ever, need guidance about respect and life skills. Etiquette enhances the way a child treats parents, siblings and friends. Etiquette effects the way an individual is perceived. I believe that when students discover the power of kindness & courtesy they will succeed in other challenges.

First impressions are formed in 6 seconds. Knowing how to give a firm handshake and the ability to look an adult in the eye speaks volumes to an individual’s maturity and self-respect.

Rudeness is on display everywhere in the public square, in the household, in the schools and in the workplace. This hurry-up world is characterized by abruptness and casualness.

By knowing the rules of a polite society a student can feel comfortable in any situation whether it be professional or just enjoying family and friends.Manners and politeness are essential skills for anyone’s development. Good intentions do not always translate into good practices. Understanding the protocol of dining has shown to increase confidence and improve self-esteem.

Goals

We are frequently reminded of how important effective communication is necessary to succeed. What many forget about is the silent communication of social manners, especially table manners.

By demonstrating social and table skills in an entertaining manner, I believe the student will increase his awareness of himself and others. The training and skills I share install a strong foundation upon which to build self-confidence and future successes. I believe these skills are best learned in an entertaining environment that keeps the student focused.
