The Gray Gables Academy was founded in 2009 but became operational in 2010 after running several pilot programs.

I am a certified etiquette consultant from The American School of Protocol in Atlanta, Georgia.

Years ago etiquette was taught in the family. They sat down to dinner together. They entertained guests together and went places together. Today our lifestyle is less formal, more casual. Today families are separated by distance so that grandparents and other relatives cannot contribute to a child’s upbringing.

It is rare when families sit down at the table for a leisurely meal with everyone present. We are a fast-food society. And we wonder why it is that young adults are embarrassed to discover a gap in their knowledge of dining and social skills?

It is for this reason that I established the Gray Gables Academy of Etiquette. Knowing that good manners are guidelines for a successful life, parents earnestly want their children to be acquainted with points of etiquette.
